Embedding Trauma in Workplaces | Wellbeing at Work

From Book to Boardroom: When Trauma Enters the Workplace
After writing my book Stronger than Your Trauma - How to transform from victim to hero - something shifted in me.
I felt a deep urge to do more.
To not only support individual healing...
But to help organisations create environments where trauma no longer lives in silence.
That’s when the idea for my Sustainable Wellbeing Platform was born.
A safe, guided space for victims of one-time traumatic events — built on the 5-phase model of post-traumatic growth by Dr. Edith Shiro.
But also... a bridge to HR and leadership.
Because once trauma is addressed on an individual level, the next step is integration.
Not only in recovery, but into how we lead, support, and build workplaces.
From Personal Growth to Organisational Strategy
As an HRM consultant, I translated this into a concrete approach — bridging trauma recovery with sustainable business strategy.
Using an 8-step model, I support organisations in embedding trauma-informed leadership into:
-
Functional strategy — wellbeing initiatives that matter
-
Business unit level — scaling impact and trust
-
Corporate level — embedding it into the ESG mission
This is how trauma-informed wellbeing becomes more than a trend.
It becomes structure, language, culture.
Gaining Global Ground
To deepen my knowledge, I recently completed the Essentials in Sustainability Management program at Vlerick Business School.
It taught me how to align purpose with performance — and how trauma-informed policies can be reported within CSRD/ESRS standards.
This strategic focus opened new doors.
From articles that reached HR audiences in Australia, the UK, and Ireland…
To connecting with organisations like Wellbeing at Work — who offered me a stage (Externe partner -Workshop - Sustainable Wellbeing Solutions) at their summit in Melbourne on 13 November 2025 (wellbeingatwork.world/summit/wellbeing-at-work-summit-australia-2025-melbourne/)
Join me in Melbourne
I’ll be hosting the workshop:
"When Trauma Enters the Workplace — We Need a Foundation to Build On"
A call to action for leaders, HR professionals and change-makers to make trauma part of the sustainability conversation.
Not because it’s easy.
But because it’s essential.
If we want thriving workplaces, we need to care for the silent stories too.
I see you there!
Warm regards,
Annick Rogiers
